I changed my battery in my 98 toyota tacoma and now the pioneer cd player doesnt work. The power doesnt even come on, Checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they were fine. What is the reason for this?
You may have an external power wire to the battery you didn't hook up.
And the fuse , swap it out , even if it looks good

I have an electric scooter with 4 12v cell batteries connected, and I am unable to charge it (I've got the wiring misconnected).
How long before it's too late, and even if I do get my wiring connected properly so I can charge it, it still won't hold a charge.
A set of 4 batteries cost about $100, so I don't want that to happen.
Lead sulphur batteries? Fully discharged? I wouldn't want to leave them in that state for more than a couple weeks. I doubt they'd be permanently damaged in that time, but they would be subject to lower reliability. Subjecting discharged batteries to temperature extremes does worsen the situation. Such as dead batteries in the middle of winter when the temp is below freezing.

How do you determine if a AA sized or any other NiMH is fully charged or not? Can you do it with a multi-tester? Do I measure just the voltage alone? If just voltage, what are the values for fully charged batteries?
You can't really get an accurate result with a multitester. NiMH batteries have a fairly flat discharge curve with a sudden drop-off when they're discharged. Like all batteries, if they’re measured open-circuit (no load), they will also display a higher voltage that will immediately drop when placed under load.
Measuring NiMH battery voltage to determine charge levels means that you have to be able to be able to measure down to .01 or 0.001 volts under load to get an idea for how charged the battery is. Even this method will only give you a relative result, since NiMH batteries lose capacity for each charge/discharge cycle they go through. A fully charged battery after 200 uses may only have 90% capacity.
Battery chargers for the newer battery technologies like NiMH or Li-Ion typically use several different methods at the same time when charging batteries:
- Time (14 hrs)
- Temperature (gets hot when fully charged)
- Voltage (peaks when charged)
- Charging current (drops when fully charged)
NiMH batteries only provide about 1.2V VS 1.5V in an alkaline abttery. A measurded no-load voltage on the battery of 1.5 volts is probably ovr 50% charge.

I bought a new battery 2 months ago. Now periodally while driving, my battery light comes on for about 5 second and then goes off. I usually reve my engine when it comes on and that seems to solve the problem. WHY is this happening?
check the charging system..sounds like the early signs of the alternator going out.

I have a bird feeder with a railing that the birds sit on. It is battery powered and activated by weight so that small birds can feed yet keep squirrels and larger birds away. It came with rechargeable cadmium batteries. I do not have a charger. Can I use alkiline batteries?
you can, you just can't recharge alkaline batteries.

I have a pop-up camper and need to charge the battery. I have a Shumacher battery charger. What volt and amp setting do I use to charge my battery?
probably 12V and the lowest amperage.
the bateery should say what voltage it is.
if it says its an HGM or SLA battery you should really use a charger made fr sealed batteries to you don't ruin it.

i recently bought a kodak c813 and works good. it uses 2 AA batteries.
Which batteries would last the longest because i know most cameras drain the energy fast, but which ones would be the best?
lithium batteries last 7 times longer than regular AA's, while your rechargeable last about 4x longer per charge. For your moneys worth, it is cheaper and more efficient to get the rechargeable, they can be used over and over until they stop holding a charge, while your lithiums last only once, then you have to get more. Your lithium batteries also cost about as much to get as rechargeable batteries.

Is there anyway to test the battery/alternator from home? or do i need to bring it to a shop with a battery tester thingy?
take it to a battery dealer most will test for free

Ive charged the battery several times and every time i try to start it, it cranks but will not start completely? and it seems to drain my battery again. Ive had three batteries do this now, what could it be?
is battery recieving a full charge? try new spark plug is fuel fresh?
