Diy Kings And Queens Need The Best Tools For The Job
batteries October 31st, 2009
Purchasing power tools is fast becoming a great pastime for DIY kings and queens around the country. However, not all power tools are created equal. Any serious DIY enthusiast should have some basic know-how regarding power tools before he goes out to shell good money to buy a piece or two.
Power tools are meant to be used incessantly. According to Donny Sheridan, a DIY expert and syndicated columnist:
“And don’t buy gear just because it is on offer or you think you might use it in the future - it will just end up gathering dust.”
Combi drill
The combi drill is a wonderful combination of a hammering action, drilling and driver. Most combi drills have alternating settings so you can drill through both wooden material and non-wooden material such as concrete and brick.
Combi drills are used to make the installation of screws easier. Since most wooden planks are too hard to simply drive a nail into, drills are used to speed up the process. The combi drill uses an 18 volt battery and good quality drills literally last decades.
On batteries and corded tools
If youâre looking for replacement or substitute batteries for your power tools, make sure that you get lithium ion batteries that have overload protection. This ensures that your power tool and your batteries will not explode or fizzle out in your hand.
Also, lithium ion batteries can rest in your garden shed for months and remain charged as these batteries tend to retain power even after intense use.
Now as for the use of corded or cordless tools, you have a choice. Cordless tools have generally been weaker than corded tools because of the power source. But with the advent of higher battery voltages (36 volts and above) the landscape of power tools has literally changed.
According to Harry Blackwell, a home contractor in the UK:
“The monopoly of the corded tools has ended. Large companies are investing heavily in R&D to make newer tools saleable to a large public.”
Saws
Saber saws or reciprocating saws are basically identical with jigsaws. The disparity, according to Sheridan is:
“The main difference is the blade sticks out at the front instead of downwards - as is the case with jigsaws. The beauty of a reciprocating saw is you can cut through wood, stone or metal by simply changing the blade. It also copes with curved or angular cutting.”
Circular saws on the other hand, are used to deal with raw timber- which is hard to cut with regular power saws. Circular saws are used also to adequately cut and shape plywood and joists.
Tip on plasterboards
Mr. Sheridan has an added recommendation, this time on plasterboards:
“Plasterboard is obviously weaker than brick and therefore can be easily damaged. For example, a door handle repeatedly banging into the wall when opening a door will weaken the board and create a hole. Chairs banging into the board can also lead to holes. Or you may need to fill in holes which were cut for wiring for a flat-screen TV or in a ceiling that once had spotlights.”

I read history and yet i have not found any king or queen from the british isle that i like, seems to me there all evil lecherous power hungry, even to murder or in James the VI case, note protest very strongly as to result in his mother getting the axe(he was next in line for the England job if his mum was gone) from her cousin Liz the 1st for the setup job of plotting agin her.Is there no lows to there thirst for power. Some believe in the devine right of kings, maybe it should be the devine right of swines.I have books on many of the royals, i cant find anything good. Why ? I have not read anything of the latter day royals, but of the ones who started whitch hunts and dug up dead people just to put on trial to obtain landsiv read alot of.Where was God in all this evil and monster behaviour ? They used God as a tool for there evil, and now they are judged by Him now,so i will leave it at that. Just name me One good King or Queen that i may research and be proud to call my King my Queen

You haven’t got to the part about "Good Queen Anne" obviously. And you can’t judge the past by today’s standards.

Take a look at Britains turbulent history and what ruling monarchs did to shape it, firstly there was a constant struggle between catholics and protestants, and then came the additional aggravation that came as a result of wars fought between the Kingdoms of England and Scotland. These were just two of many civil problems. The solution to the first probelm was instigated by Queen Elizabeth I when she created a single church of England, and finally brought to a closure when William Prince of Orange passed the bill barring catholics from ever ascending the throne. Shortly after, in 1707, came the Act of Union, under the reign of Queen Anne. The United Kingdom was born.
All of these actions were taken with the best interest of our nations welfare at heart.

Our present Queen has served the country for 55 years now, and in eight years time she will become the longest ruling British monarch ever. She deserves our admiration for doing a difficult job exceptionally well.

Edward the Confessor, an Anglo-Saxon king (1005-1066), is a Roman Catholic saint canonized in 1161; his niece, St. Margaret of Scotland (1045-1093), is the mother of King David I of Scotland (abt. 1083-1143), who was also praised for his piety.

At one time it was a matter of kill or be killed. The most dangerous job used to be that of king or queen. Everyone else was after your job.
I think Queen Victoria was fairly harmless but in my opinion was also rather useless. Also by the time she came to the throne it was no longer acceptable to treat the peasants too badly, although they could still be used as cannon fodder in wartime. (As they still are).

Judgements made by historians tend to colour our opinions on the character of monarchs especially if they are made by interesting and persuasive writers.Neither Mary Queen of Scots nor Elizabeth the 1st were in a position to resign and go off and do something else,Its what they represented that mattered and whose interest were served by their living on or by being bumped off.Politics really.
Good monarchs ..Henry vi ,George iii,George vi.Charles ii

History can be read anyway you want to. It easy to judge people from the luxury of another (and infinitely more comfortable) era.
Like most groups of people, I guess some were better than others, and the actions of some would have been more selfless than others. But no, I’m fairly sure they are not all evil!
